||
|
☀️ We hope you're all enjoying the sunny half term safely and responsibly.
We know lots of you will be out and about enjoying local spots, including spots with bodies of open water.
We want to highlight the dangers of outdoor swimming and ask you all to ❗ STAY OUT OF THE WATER ❗
⛔ The Main Risks: 👉🏽 Cold Water Shock: The deep water in reservoirs remains freezing cold year-round. This can instantly cause hyperventilation, cramping, and cardiac arrest.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service also have some information on how to keep yourself safe when near open water: https://www.derbys-fire.gov.uk/safety/water-safety/open-water
